Enjoying Your Butter Tteok
Freshly baked, the edges are lightly crisp with a soft, chewy centre. As it cools, the buttery tteok naturally becomes soft throughout—this is completely normal.
To recreate that freshly baked texture, warm it in an air fryer at 160°C for 3–5 minutes, or in the oven at 170°C for 4–6 minutes. The edges will crisp up beautifully while the centre becomes warm, soft, and chewy again.
For a quicker option, microwave for 10–15 seconds for a softer, gooey texture (note that the edges won't become crisp).
